Newsletter Nr. 3          October 2017

Dear readers,

Welcome to the third edition of the HIRMEOS newsletter. The HIRMEOS newsletter keeps you updated about developments in the project High Integration of Research Monographs in the European Open Science infrastructure (HIRMEOS).

The first major technical improvement of the publishing platforms involved in the project has been achieved. The Work Package lead by the Greek National Documentation Center (EKT) has enabled four of the five book platforms (Ubiquity Press had already implemented) to develop identification services with shared standards. The platforms can now add unique identifiers to documents (DOI) and their authors (ORCID) and link them to research projects (Fundref). Enabling crosslinking on books, HIRMEOS project facilitates users navigating between documents and between documents and data.

Sincerely,

Andrea Bertino
